The Mercedes 250SL presents in a desirable red with a light cream/parchment leather interior. With a 2.5L, six-cylinder engine powered by a 4-speed automatic transmission, it’s no wonder this luxurious sports car was so highly sought after. This car offers both a soft top roof and a hard top.
The Mercedes Benz 250 SL is an investment with an odometer showing only 8437KM. It has been meticulously maintained and preserved for over 50 years by a Mercedes-Benz enthusiast and collector.
Its said that only 5196 examples were produced and sold between 1966 and 1968. This Australian delivered 250SL is a rarity and only few would compare to its outstanding mechanical and cosmetic condition.
Its predecessor, the 230SL fell well short of the upgrades the 250SL had to offer.
Improvements began at a ‘Cathedral Style’ Bosch headlamps that positioned over the leading edge of the front fenders for the 250SL. Along with a few cosmetic changes, it offered an improved seat belt design, a collapsible steering column highlighted by a padded centre hub. Mercedes set the bar industry-wide with an interior design of luxury with a thick padded, fully instrumented dashboard and an inside cabin of high class leather.
